8 Ways to Enjoy Pizza at Home

There’s no doubt that pizza is one of the most popular comfort foods. We can eat it any time of the day, but there’s nothing better than having it at home after work, while in bed watching something on Netflix.

The amazing thing about pizza is that there are many ways to enjoy it, from eating a slice using your bare hands to stacking slices on top of each other for the fullest bite possible.

Today, we’ll go over the different ways that you can enjoy pizza in the comfort of your own home and the company of your favourite television series. Read on while waiting for your pizza delivery!

  • Pizzarito

Pizzarito is when you eat pizza as if it's a burrito.

After heating a slice of pizza, quickly roll it into a burrito shape, so the steam melts everything together. It’s the perfect way to consume flexible and thin-sliced pizzas as the crust won’t likely fall apart.

  • Fork and Knife

Eating pizza with a fork and knife may not be instinctive, but it’s the best way to avoid your fingers from getting greasy, especially if you’re munching slices while in bed.

It seems a bit complicated to eat pizza with cutlery when you can simply use your hands, but we can’t blame other people for not wanting to get their hands dirty.

  • Stack it Up

Popularised by John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, the Stack it Up method is for daring multitaskers who can handle more than a slice of pizza in one bite.

All you have to do is stack pizza slices on top of each other and go to town! You can either stack up slices of the same flavour and be more adventurous by topping a Hawaiian and Pepperoni.

  • Inside-Out Fold

Some pizza lovers prefer the toppings to hit their mouths first before the crust, so they do the inside-out or reverse-folding method.

Instead of folding the pizza with the toppings facing each other, you fold the crusts to each other.

  • Backwards Eater

For those who love to save the best for last, the backwards eater is the method for you.

It's when you eat the pizza from the crust to the tip. Others may be appalled by the idea of devouring the crust first, but it's one way to make the most of the delicious toppings.

  • The Topping Remover

Removing toppings isn't as bad as it sounds, especially if you love saving the meat and veggies for last.

The Topping Remover method involves stripping your pizza of all its glory (aka toppings) and setting them aside after you’ve downed the crust.

We’re not sure if it would work for other pizza flavours, but it couldn’t be any more perfect for Meat-lover’s pizza since it holds the most toppings, including pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, and of course, meatballs.

  • Folding Method

The majority of pizza lovers do the Folding Method more than they might think. It’s typically done when the slice is too big to fit inside the mouth.

As it’s folded in half, you’ll get through it quicker while enjoying every bite. It works best with most pizza flavours, but we usually do it with Hawaiian to squeeze out the remaining juices from the pineapples.

  • Pizza Facial

Similar to a facial, you remove the excess oil from the surface of your pizza. Using a napkin, dab away at the grease marks atop of cheese until it’s dry.

We’re not exactly sure if doing this will reduce the pizza’s calories, but then again, it’s pizza that we’re talking about here. Pizza just tastes better the greasier it looks.

On the flip side, that’s one way to protect your shirt (or bed sheet if you’re eating in bed) from accidental oil stains.

With hundreds of pizza places scattered all over Singapore, pizza delivery has never been quicker and more convenient! From morning till midnight, we’re sure there’s one near you that can satisfy your greasy cravings any time of the day!
